Suzanne Guest dedicated her entire law career to Allstate Insurance Co. She spent years defending Allstate insured defendants who had been sued by the victims of motor vehicle negligence.
All she did was work for Allstate. Allstate had agreed to defend her if she was ever sued in connection with her work for Allstate.
How did Allstate repay Suzanne Guest for her dedicated years or hard work and devotion? It put her out of business.
When two accident victims sued Allstate and Guest for matters relating to Guest's representation of Allstate, the "good hands" company reneged on there promise to defend Guest.
According to Guest's lawyer Thomas Simmons "When Allstate stabbed her in the back, (Guest) then had to give up all her Allstate cases because there was a conflict of interest...and that's all she did was work for Allstate. So she had to give up her practice as a result of Allstate strong-arming her in order to save money."
Guest was able however to turn the tables on Allstate. She sued Allstate and recovered a verdict of $ 1.8 million in Compensatory damages and $ 9 million in punitive damages.
Of course Allstate said it was not guilty of any wrongdoing and will appeal.
If this is the way Allstate treats its long standing devoted lawyer, what chance do its' insureds have in trying to get a fair shake form Allstate?
