A vehicle traveling north in the southbound lanes of Interstate 95 crashed into a tanker truck, causing the truck to overturn and the highway to be shut down in Cumberland County.

The driver of the car, a Lumber Bridge man, is being charged with driving the wrong way and driving while impaired. The trooper investigating the tanker truck accident says the driver went 20 miles in the wrong direction. He was traveling at 90 miles per hour.

The accident occurred at 12:46am when the truck driver swerved when trying to avoid a crash with the car. The truck veered off the road, overturned and blocked the highway.

The tanker truck is owned by Langer Transport of New Jersey. The State Highway Patrol says it was carrying 45,000 of a flammable substance that is used when making deodorant. The driver of the truck was not injured in the accident.
